Rule 1

Payment & Product IC Only…
No OOC gil is required to purchase premade or custom items. A detailed written description will be provided for custom item orders – no in-game item will be traded to your character.

Rule 2

…So Pay OOC with Kindness
Please respect the staff and our other customers. Identity and humanity aren’t up for debate – bigotry or bullying will not be tolerated. The staff will provide a warning IC, then OOC. Ignoring the warning will result in being expelled from the premises.

Rule 3

Take It Outside
No unauthorized violence will be tolerated on the grounds. Weapons can be tested on the proving grounds outside the shop only. Njal is an Ishgardian House Knight – test your weapons, not his patience.

Rule 4

A SFW Shop
Please, no NSFW commission requests. When in doubt, ask OOC to see if we’d consider your character’s commission NSFW. It should go without saying since this is a shop, but ERP is not permitted.

Rule 5

Consent Before Conflict
Black and Gold centers the love of crafting and community, so this is not the venue to stage your character’s next Drama. But conflicts can happen – if they do, send a courtesy OOC message to check on consent before raising the stakes.

Commissions

All commissions begin with a consultation. In addition to details of material, style, and so on, we will be asking for some information about who the item is for and what its purpose will be. Be it a gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself, an everyday tool or a special occasion accessory, we'll want to understand the full intention of the commission to best tailor our work to your needs.Based on your consultation, we will provide you with renderings or a fabrication of the item to discuss changes and finer details. Depending on the item and your preferences, this may happen immediately following the consultation, or at a later date. Once the designed is agree upon, we'll provide you a cost estimate and set a date for project completion. You may pick up your final piece in store during our opening hours, or have it "delivered" to suit your own timeline and storyline.Commissions are a purely roleplay experience. No in-game items will be be provided as apart of a commission, and no OOC gil is required.

Staff

Njal: Steelsinger

A former Wood-warder and Knight of House Lothaire. In addition to private commissions he has raised his hammer in service of Lothaire weaponscraft, the Maelstrom, and to benefit the families of the Brume.Bladecraft was his first love and remains his specialty as a smith, but he has high proficiency in all armor, weaponscraft, and field training equipment. More recently, he has expanded his metalwork to include tools, housewares, and sculpture – the latter explicitly as a means to honor Ravan culture. He often experiments with colorization and finishes with his metal work, as well as etching.Certified by the Blacksmiths Guild, he has unfortunately gone drinking with Brithael Spade.

Kiett: Gilder

Once a Wood-Warder of Golmore, Kiett traded in his weapons for a chaser hammer several years ago and never looked back.Kiett is formally trained and certified by the Goldsmith’s Guild, and served out his apprenticeship and journeyman period at the Warden’s Grace Jewelry Shop.While his greatest joy lies in creating beautiful accessories that bring delight, he also specializes in weaving enchantments into his work, using arcane knowledge from his Warder days.Most recently, he’s been studying medical anatomy and physiology at Sharlayan to support the creation of effective, beautiful assistive tools and prosthetics.

Citrine: Administrator

Citrine is the paperwork covered backbone of Black & Gold. They've worn many hats in their life, and this one is a labor of love and joy.A trained nutritionist and therapist, Citrine works closely with The Eumeryia Project on the back end to ensure that all medical devices are up to the prescribing doctor's standards.

Loupe: Quality Assurance

This little lap coblyn has a discerning sense of taste, and Kiett has trained them since birth to use it to identify grade, purity, elemental affinity, and aetheric charge and potential of metal and gem specimens. Which, given they’re only a few months old, isn’t very long really.

    Read-Along Glasses: Enchanted to help alleviate the struggles of dyslexia and dyscalculia, these glasses will whisper the text you read on a page to the wearer.This pair can be plain glass or updated with your prescription.

    Ever-Harvest Shears: A set of garden shears, forged from a sturdy steel alloy and anodized to a rich, luxurious green. A gold inlay of vines and vines weaves along the handles and down through the blades, as though the metal were overgrown with guilding.Each snip of these blades releases a burst of rich earth aether— enough to preserve the fruits, veggies, and herbs you harvest at the peak of their freshness, and infusing the plants you prune with a dose of concentrated health.

    Bed Warming Pan: Made of polished copper to hold in the heat, this tool features a long handle which makes it easy to slip the hot pan under the bed covers. Serpentine palm stones included, also known for their heat-retention properties, which means minimal fire crystals are needed for maximum warmth.

    Moon's Blessing Scrying Bowl: This wide-mouthed sterling silver bowl is lined with a smooth obsidian finish on the inside that features ground moonstone as the Moon's emissary.

    Lacquered Multitool: The casing is a work of art-- a bright white titanium backdrop to iridescent black nacre stars, moon, and flowers. This delicate material is lacquered in protective resin until no amount of rough handling can scratch, chip, or break it.The tools themselves are a compact, comprehensive set of blades, files, pliers, and other similar useful bits and bobs, machined with precision by delicate goldsmith's fingers.

    The Green Blade: A machete made to honor the home of the Rava, its strong titanium blade has been specially heat treated to bring out a green hue reminiscent of the lush jungle.

    Halfmoon Camping Cookwear: This lightweight plate is made of two pieces attached by a hinge and snaps into place when folded flat to ensure no leakage. Made of magnesium so it can be placed directly on the cookfire, it comes with a matching set of flatware.
